Niyazi Erdoğan received his BA in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1999. In 2003 he became one of the top contenders in the Young Fashion Designers Contest by ITKIB (Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporter Associations), placing in the finales. He was a partner and the design director of the “Eroni” brand, creating collections for other labels around the world (2009-2014). After consulting for the sportswear brand Maraton, Niyazi Erdoğan launched his accessories sub-brand NIYO in the summer of 2014. Most recently, he designed exclusive NIYO backpacks using the ‘ehram’ fabrics of Baksı Museum, and launched a 16-piece capsule apparel collection for ASICS.
For the last two seasons, Erdoğan has been among the designers of Istanbul Fashion Incube, the first fashion business incubator of Istanbul established to support and nurture talented fashion design talents of tomorrow with a promising future in a professional capacity. Istanbul Fashion Incube operates with the executive support of Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association and financial support of Istanbul Development Agency. Erdoğan is also the Vice President of Fashion Designers Association.
